OUTDOOR CLASSROOM

The school places great value on the children spending ample time outdoors. The curriculum includes bi-weekly outings with the intent to bring children into nature and into wild spaces. They learn meaningful work and skills, and enjoy unstructured time for free play. Outings include nature hikes, beach walks and farm visits, where the children learn to forage, garden, do leatherwork and handcrafts, comb and spin wool, make candles and soap, pickle vegetables, learn about marine life, beekeeping, cob building, solar power, and more.
